KAON Proposal #2: Community Takeover and Focused Development Path
Proposal ID: KIP-002
Date: April 8, 2025
Executive Summary
Due to significant market changes and decreased liquidity, continuing as a Bitcoin Layer 1 solution is no longer viable for KAON. This proposal outlines a realistic pivot to transition KAON to community governance while developing a focused BTCfi aggregator platform with basic AI capabilities.
We will focus on developing a minimal viable product with few BTCfi integrations and a clear community handover milestone. This approach enables us to effectively utilize our current financial and developer resources, ensuring sustainable development for KAON token holders. Each stage will deliver concrete, measurable outcomes that strengthen community trust and build a solid foundation for future growth.
1. Core Objectives
Focused BTCfi Aggregator Development
- Build a lightweight aggregator integrating 1 BTCfi project initially.
- Focus on basic portfolio tracking and simple yield comparison features.
- Implement a sustainable revenue model with minimal operational costs.
- Create a simple discount system for KAON holders.
Community-Driven Governance
- Transition to community control under Exoldy’s leadership with our publicly identified dev team.
- Establish transparent decision-making processes with achievable milestones.
- Set clear handover KPIs for the development team.
2. Technical Approach
Core Components
Basic Aggregator
-
Unified interface for BTCfi projects:
We’ll start strong with Lombard (liquid Bitcoin staking with LBTC) and Babylon (Bitcoin staking for PoS networks) to bring staking options right out of the gate.
Then, we’ll follow up with Liquidium (P2P lending using Ordinal Inscriptions as collateral) and Stacks (a Layer-2 blockchain for Bitcoin smart contracts and dApps) to expand the lineup. -
Data collection: We’ll pull in insights from Apostro projects to boost security and risk management across the platform.
-
Lightweight portfolio tracking: Users will get a clear, simple dashboard to track their assets across Lombard, Babylon, and soon Liquidium and Stacks.
-
Basic yield comparison tools: We’ll offer an easy way to compare yields from all connected projects, starting with staking returns from Lombard and Babylon.

The proposed timeline ensures a measured approach with clear accountability and a specific community handover milestone in Month 9. We encourage all KAON holders to review this focused plan and participate in the upcoming governance vote.
Note: All timelines and features are subject to adjustment based on development progress and community feedback.
